Two...Point...Conversion! Um yeah, so for
those of you who have no idea what we are talking about, we are referring to what may have been the best college football game in history, the 2007 Fiesta Bowl between our beloved Boise State Broncos and the Oklahoma Sooners. As we mentioned in a previous post, we chose to give our baby a place to sleep instead of attending this game. We are now realizing that sleeping in a shoe box is really not that big of deal. He would have understood!
Seriously, even if you are not a football fan you must check out highlights of this game. It had more drama than any American Idol or Survivor finale. It was pure nail-biting brilliance. We had both a love/hate relationship with the quarterback who almost lost it for us and then miraculously tied the ball game with some real trickery. All in all, a huge win for the little guy and some excellent Monday Night Football.

Ok, I myself am not much of a football fan, but Brian sure is! He kept changing the channel back to the game to see the score. When I finally realized it was Boise State (and that there was nothing else on), we left it there and watched the rest of the game. When BSU made the touchdown that would tie up the game in the last what...15 seconds??, Brian jumped and "hoorahed" and danced around the room. I realized you two were probably doing the same thing. That really was fun to watch how they pulled off the win! Go BSU!!
P.S. Nice update on the photo! You two are HOT!!
I did indeed watch the highlights and I won't lie--it brought a tear. Wow. Wow. Wow.
I don't watch football. I don't get into it. However, when it is my future alma mater, I have a certain obligation to watch them play and root for the home team. The game was so awesome. I was very excited to watch them play. I had just assumed I would be watching them lose to a superior team. Still, I backed my team and I was pulling for them. By the end of the 2nd quarter, I was hooked. I felt like there was a chance they would not only win but by a good margin. Of course, that dream was lost and I was set into a depression after the QB threw an interception causing the opposing team to score and lead BSU with less than two minutes in the game. Still I watched and hoped for a lucky break. However, it was not luck but a stunning display of skill yielding a game-winning touchdown and subsequent two-point-conversion. Yes, I am missing some detail in there but for sake of brevity let’s just leave it at, “they won”!
Steph and Jake,
First let me say Congratulations on It's a Boy! I've heard thru the Wood family Grapevine (teehee) that his name is Mason Jake. So exciting.
And second, GO BRONCOS! I know it wouldn't take you long to become true "on the blue" fans. Wow, what a game. It was amazing. I cried before the game when they rolled out the gynormous flag. Patriotism... I cried when I thought we had it won at halftime! Then I cried for Z when he thru the interception. And finally at the end when we WON! If that wasn't enough we got to see Ian propose to his girlfriend. That is just too much emotion for this girl! Oh... I will email you a pic of Chance and Ian!
Well just wanted to say I'm so excited for you two.
Love you!
PS this is my first post to a blog so I hope I did this right.
Marilyn:
We looked for you guys every time they showed the crowd on tv. We were excited for you, as you guys are true fans! Thanks for commenting, you're a pro already!
Well I should point out since I was a Marine that little feller is actually saluting, mark my words he'll be doing calestentics any time now. About that pic of the two movie stars......
The Boise game was fantastic. Reminded me of the Miracle bowl game that BYU won over Southern Methodist University in 1980. Byu was behind 45 to 25 with 3:57 left to play and came back to win. Jim McMahaon was the quarterback and Boise's game was just like BYU's game. Winning at the last moment.
